Police Seek Identity of Dead Man Found in Potomac River

Cause of death is still unknown, police said.

Prince George's County police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and man who was found dead in the Potomac River near Fort Washington Sunday.

The body of a man—between the ages of 40 and 60 years old—was discovered by a boater and later retrieved by emergency services personnel.

Police believe the man was either white or Hispanic. He was 6 feet, 1 inches tall and around 180 lbs., and was slightly balding with short, white hair.

The body has no identifying tattoos or other markings, but the man was wearing the shoes in the attached photo when his body was pulled from the river.

An autopsy was conducted on Monday, but cause of death has not been determined. Police are still waiting for toxicology reports.
