Police: 7-year-old Girl Sexually Assaulted in Upper Marlboro

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

A seven-year-old girl was assaulted in Upper Marlboro and authorities are looking for help finding the man responsible, according to Prince George’s County Police.

According to a statement released by police, the assault occurred on Sat., June 22 at about 3 p.m. on the 8800 block of Heathermore Blvd. Detectives say they think a man approached the girl, assaulted her behind a building and then ran away.

The man is described as an older white man with a heavy build; he is bald with a goatee-style gray beard.

Detectives are canvassing the area and following up on leads and would like anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident to contact the sexual assault unit at 301-772-4908. Callers can leave anonymous tips on the Crime Solvers line at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or via text by texting “PGPD [your message]” to CRIMES (274637).

Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward for tips that lead to an arrest and indictment in this case, according to police.
