  As thousands across the country start the countdown for favorite shows to start up new seasons, parents may be looking to refresh household rules guiding children’s television use. TV Watch, a nonprofit advocating for parental control over government control of family television use, estimates that 72 percent of American households have rules about TV use for kids. The group recommends that parents take a few minutes to review fall TV schedules and television show ratings, which range from a Y-rating (recommended for younger audiences) to MA (mature adults only). Need a little calm canine energy in your life? Meet Zen, a laid-back and super-sweet Chinese Shar-Pei. He's about five years old and weighs in at 50 pounds. Zen is a unique and striking dog who has a very gentle way about him, and just wants to be loved and to find his new place in the world. After being purchased from an Arizona breeder, Zen was surrendered by his owner, who claimed he was working longer hours and wasn’t able to care for him. Poor Zen lived in a home with his family for over four years and then suddenly found himself abandoned in a shelter for six long months.
