A few events you may want to check out this weekend.
Beer and wine connoisseurs, this one is for you. Crescent Beer & Wine in Bowie is holding a free beer and wine tasting on Friday, June 8, at 4 p.m. Stop in and try something new! Sports fans won’t want to miss the Geico Battle of the Beltway Charity Softball Game at Prince George’s Stadium in Bowie. The game pits Redskins alumni against Colts/Ravens alumni on Saturday, June 9, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20. Join Mardi Gras Health and Fitness in Upper Marlboro on Saturday, June 9 for their Belly Dancing Gala, featuring belly dancing, henna, a juicing demonstration, and more! The gala will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the cost is $10 per person, but if you bring a friend, you can each get in for five bucks.

A few events going on this Memorial Day weekend that are worth checking out.
If patriotic music is your thing, The Bowie Senior Choral Concert presents “This is My Country” on Friday, May 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts. The concert will feature patriotic folk songs and other songs that highlight America. Tickets are $6. Grab your swim suits! The Pointer Ridge Swim and Racquet Club is hosting an open house and free swim day on Saturday, May 26 from noon to 8 p.m. Forward, march! Bowie’s annual Memorial Day Parade will take place on Saturday, May 28. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. at the Bowie High School Annex and will go toward Annapolis Road turning right onto Sussex Lane, and make another right onto Stonybrook Drive, ending with a left turn on Sage Lane. Patch pulls together a few events happening around town this week.
The big event this weekend is without a doubt the Joint Service Open House and Airshow at Andrews Air Force Base. Watch the Blue Angels take to the sky, or check out the Golden Knights parachute demonstration team. There will also be several military exhibits on display. The event is open on Saturday, May 19 and Sunday, May 20 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is free to the public. If flora and fauna are more your style, check out the Bowie Certified Wildlife Tour.
