Bowie Woman Pleads Guilty to Attempted Sex Abuse of a Teen

Loni Haggins, 30, has pleaded guilty to engaging in a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old boy.

Bowie resident Loni Haggins pleaded guilty last week to the charge of attempted sex abuse of a 17-year-old boy, reported W9USA. Haggins, 30, reportedly met the teen at the DC Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program in 2010 and carried on a sexual relationship with him over the next year that resulted in two pregnancies and the birth of one child, according to W9USA. DC law requires Haggins to register as a sex offender. Pursuant to state law, Haggins’ guilty plea and sex offender registration in DC will require her to register as a sex offender in Maryland as well, according to the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services website. Her sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 14. Read the full story on WUSA9.
