PGFD Fight Three Unrelated Fires in College Park, Upper Marlboro and Brentwood

The Prince George's County Fire Department spent Sunday morning trying to extinguish three fires across the county.

It was a busy morning for Prince George's County firefighters after three unrelated fires broke out around the county in the early morning hours, according to fire spokesman Mark Brady.  Two fires were overnight in College Park and Upper Marlboro, while the third broke out this morning in Brentwood, Brady said.  The first fire occurred shortly before 1 a.m. in the 5200 block of Palco Place in the Sunnyside neighborhood of College Park, just north of the beltway, according to officials.  The basement of a two-story home was on fire— so heavily it quickly spread through the upper floors of the home and eventually broke through the roof. The cause of the fire is still under investigation and no one was hurt, Brady said. The next fire began …
