A greater Upper Marlboro man was arrested at his home on Wednesday in connection with a bank robbery and admitted his involvement, Prince George's police said. Robert Alonzo Robinson, 43, of the 3500 block of Eyre Drive South, allegedly approached a teller and passed a note demanding money at a Sun Trust Bank in greater Upper Marlboro on Feb. 15, police said. The suspect did not have a weapon nor threaten to have a weapon when he robbed the bank, according to Officer Nicole Hubbard, Prince George's County Police spokeswoman. The robber made off with an undisclosed amount of money from the bank, located in the 5700 block of Crain Highway, according to police. Robinson is being held at the Department of Corrections on a no bond status.

Emmanuel Adegoke allegedly assaulted a female, choking and punching her, according to the Prince George's Sheriff's Office.
Prince George's County sheriff's deputies arrested a man who allegedly assaulted a female in Upper Marlboro more than a week ago, choking and punching her, then chasing her with a knife, according to the sheriff's office. Thirty-one-year-old Emmanuel Adegoke of Upper Marlboro was arrested Tuesday on a warrant for first-degree assault, according to the sheriff's office. Deputies found Adegoke in the 100 block of Independence Avenue in Washington DC. He was apprehended without incident, the sheriff's office reported. Adegoke allegedly assaulted the victim on Jan 20 at a residence in the 9600 block of Marilyn Ivy Court. The victim escaped the residence and contacted police. Six Flags in Upper Marlboro will open on March 23, and this year is introducing a season dining pass, according to a company official. For the first time, patrons can pre-purchase season dining passes and get cheeseburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, salads, chicken strips, pizza or other select menu items—without paying more than their purchase price, no matter how many days they visit in 2013, according to Havilah Ross, Six Flags spokeswoman. For $69.99, season and gold card pass holders can purchase the dining pass and have two meals per day per visit, according to Ross. A witness captured video of Johnathan Desmond Cummings, 19, assaulting a two-year-old boy, according to police.
A 19-year-old Upper Marlboro day care employee is charged in a child abuse case after a witness caught him striking a two-year-old boy on video, according to the Prince George's County Police Department. In the video, Johnathan Desmond Cummings is shown assaulting a boy under his care at an unlicensed residential day care on the 13600 block of Wood Ember Drive, according to police. Officers were called to the day care on Monday for the report of physical child abuse, police said. The boy's parents were alerted to the assault by video a witnesses captured, according to police. More homes sold but the average selling price for Upper Marlboro homes was down 3.5 percent in 2012, according to a local real estate agent.
Upper Marlboro homes sales rose slightly in 2012, according to Stacey-Ann Baugh, a real estate agent for Century 21 Real Estate. Using information from Multiple Listing Service, Baugh reported that 1,028 homes sold in Upper Marlboro last year. In all, nine more homes sold than in 2011. However, the average sales price for Upper Marlborough decreased 3.5 percent from $241,370 in 2011 to $232,896 in 2012, according to Baugh. The highest sale price in Upper Marlboro was $885,731 and the lowest $20,000, according to Baugh. The home that sold for $885,731 was a 5 bedroom, 6 1/2 bath single family home in Beechtree, and the $20,000 sale was for a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom mobile home in Flower Village, she said.
