It is undeniably Christmas time, as evidenced by the decorated houses, Christmas tree lots popping up and Santas setting up shop in department stores and malls. For many small children, Santa Claus is a big part of the holiday. Kids pose on his lap for photos, write letters will detailed gift requests and try to be on their best behavior to avoid the naughty list. The big guy in red is a hot topic of conversation for those who celebrate and have little ones, which begs the question, when do you reveal the truth about the Santa myth? From singing dogs to a philandering Santa Claus, these recordings came in last place in a recent survey.
Odds are there's at least one Christmas recording filling the airwaves each December which you absolutely, positively cannot stand. Maybe it's something about the vocalist. Maybe the song brings up less than cheerful memories. Maybe the carol itself is just plain awful. Whatever the reason, you're not alone. Edison Research, a company specializing in marketing and polling, has published a list of least liked holiday songs for 2012. To compile its rankings, the company polled a group of 200 women ages 30-49 "who said they liked or loved hearing Christmas music on the radio."
