Deputies Arrest Felony Assault Suspect in Capitol Heights

Sheriff's deputies apprehended Kenneth Ferguson at the 500 block of Cedarleaf Ave. in Capitol Heights, MD.

  Sheriff's deputies apprehended Kenneth Ferguson in Capitol Heights, MD, on an arrest warrant for first degree assault, according to the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office. Ferguson and another male suspect allegedly physically assaulted a male victim at the 500 block of Cedarleaf Ave. in Capitol Heights, according to the warrant, which was obtained on Nov. 20. The other male suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the victim; then he and Ferguson fled, according to the sheriff's office.  Deputies seeking Ferguson found him at the 7200 block of Hylton Street, the sheriff's office announced. Deputies Arrest "Sheriff's Most Wanted" Suspect

A suspect wanted for a July 10 armed robbery was arrested Monday.

The Prince George's County Sheriff's Office reported the arrest of Terrance Stevenson—a suspect on the "Sheriff's Most Wanted" list. Stevenson is suspected in an alleged armed robbery in Glenarden in July. He was arrested Monday, the sheriff's office reported. According to the sheriff's warrant, Stevenson allegedly robbed a man in the 8600 block of Leslie Avenue on July 10 by sticking a gun in his face and forcing him to fall over. Two other suspects then stole property from the victim, the warrant stated. Deputies learned of Stevenson's wherabouts in the 6300 block of Hillmar Drive in District Heights Monday. Fallen Sheriff's Deputies to be Honored in Wreath-laying Ceremony

New Memorial remembers Sergeant James Arnaud and Deputy First Class Elizabeth Magruder.

A memorial ceremony will be held Wednesday outside the Prince George's County Sheriff's office marking the 10th anniversary of the deaths of Sergeant James Arnaud and Deputy First Class Elizabeth Magruder.  Arnaud and Magruder were killed in August, 2002, while attempting to serve an emergency psychiatric service (EPS) petition to a man at a home in Adelphi. The man shot both offficers. The killings were the first line-of-duty deaths in the Prince George's Sheriff's department's 306-year history. The wreath-laying will be the first held at the newly-completed Memorial Monument on the grounds of the Sheriff's Office headquarters in Upper Marlboro. Pr. George's Deputies Arrest Suspect in Upper Marlboro Armed Robbery

The Prince George's Sheriff's Office reported the arrest of a man that robbed eight people at a house party in Upper Marlboro home in July.

  An Upper Marlboro man was arrested and charged Friday in an armed robbery that occurred at a house party in Upper Marlboro. Sheriff's deputies arrested Shawn Owen-Sellers at a home on the 6100 block of Ivey Ridge Court. According to the warrant, Owen-Sellers, along with other suspects, allegedly robbed eight people of nearly $2,000 worth of property at a party in the 12000 block of Green Tee Turn on July 25. Owen-Sellers was charged with eight counts of first degree assault, eight counts of armed robbery and use of a firearm during a violent crime. He's being held in the county's Department of Corrections, deputies reported.

Sheriff's Deputy Charged With Second-Degree Rape

The Upper Marlboro resident was suspended after he was charged with sexually assaulting a female inmate.

Sheriff Deputy Lamar McIntyre of Upper Marlboro has been suspended from his post without pay after he was arrested and charged with second-degree rape. Prince George's County Police officers responded to the Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro Tuesday at 2 p.m. for a report of a sexual assault, according to WUSA9. A 34-year old female inmate, who was awaiting trial, told detectives she was sexually assaulted by a deputy, WUSA9 reported. According a press release from the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office, county police arrested McIntyre Wednesday morning, after Sheriff Melvin C. Suspect in Forestville Murder Found Hiding in DC Attic

Sheriff's deputies found Kimberly Yvette Taylor hiding in a DC attic Tuesday.

The woman accused of killing Raquel Israel in Forestville in April was found hiding in a DC attic Tuesday, according to the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office. Kimberly Yvette Taylor was found in the attic of a home on 47th Street in Washington, DC, according to WJLA. Taylor is charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a deadly weapon, use of a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence, armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, WUSA9 reported. Israel, 32, was found dead on April 4 in a home in the 2100 block of Brooks Drive. Police arrested another man in connection with Israel's death in May. Taylor is in police custody in DC, awaiting extradition to Prince George's County.

Sheriff's Office Arrests 51 Alleged Deadbeat Dads

The Prince George's County Sheriff's Office conducted a warrant sweep on Father's Day.

Prince George's County Sheriff's officers arrested 51 men Sunday on charges of failing to pay child support in what is being described as the most successful "Father's Day Warrant Sweep" since 2009. The annual sweep was carried out in cooperation with the Child Support Enforcement Division and in partnership with Calvert and Charles county sheriff's offices and Maryland State Police. In all, officers closed 100 child supports related warrants and orders. Officials said they had hoped to close as many as 286 warrants and locate suspects at 136 addresses.
