Mandatory budget cuts could cancel the century-old tradition.
The 135th annual White House Easter Egg Roll, scheduled for April 1, could be a victim of the budget cuts forces by sequestration, The Washington Post reported. The report cited a memo issued by the White House to confirmed event ticket holders that stated: “Finally, by using these tickets, guests are acknowledging that this event is subject to cancellation due to funding uncertainty surrounding the Executive Office of the President and other federal agencies. If cancelled, the event will not be re-scheduled. e will notify you if there are any modifications to this event.” The article also quotes an email from a White House staffer stating, “we are currently proceeding as planned with the Easter Egg Roll,” but adding that ticket holders …

The White House Saturday released an official photograph of President Obama skeet shooting at Camp David in Catoctin Mountain Park in Frederick County, MD. The photo, taken last August, shows a jeans-clad Obama firing at clay targets on the grounds of the presidential retreat, the White House said. It was released after skepticism surfaced about Obama's statement quoted in The New Republic that he participates in skeet shooting regularly. "If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this? Why have we not seen photos?" Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) said earlier this week. "I think he should invite me to Camp David, and I'll go skeet shooting with him. And I bet I'll beat him." The flap came as the president mounted a push for …
