Update: Pedestrian ID'ed in Fatal Accident
A driver in Fort Washington struck a pedestrian on the sidewalk, but did not flee the scene, according to police.
Update, 5:20 p.m.: Police have identified the Fort Washington man that died after he was struck by a car Thursday morning as 46 year-old Terraine Saunders, of the 9100 block of Little Stone Drive in Fort Washington. Original Post: A driver fell asleep at the wheel in Fort Washington, MD, Thursday morning and jumped a curb, hitting a man on the sidewalk, according to Cpl. Maria McKinney, a Prince George's County Police spokeswoman. The victim was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead, McKinney said. Around 6:30 a.m. officers responded to the 9200 block of Livingston Road and found the man suffering from injuries related to the collision, McKinney said.
