Now Open in Bowie: Lima's Chicken

Bowie's first Peruvian chicken restaurant, Lima's Chicken, has been open in Collington Plaza for nearly a month, and is getting rave reviews from customers. "It's programmed in my GPS to come here for lunch everyday," said one patron, who had driven 10 miles out of her way to have lunch at Lima's for a second day in a row. Through the lunch hour, both carry out and dine in business was steady. Lima's serves charbroiled rotisserie chicken with two sides in prices ranging from $6.25 for a quarter chicken to $15.95 for a whole chicken. Sides include two types of beans, two types of rice, salad, fried plantains, fried yucca, fresh veggies and french fries. I'm excited that there's a Latino restaurant in Bowie that isn't part a chain like applebee's or chili's. Bowie needs more authentic restaurants. I'm waiting to see if we'll ever have a restaurant like Dona Azucena (a great Salvadoran restaurant in VA and one in Montgomery County that has the best pupusas in the DC area).   more ›
