Barbara J. Sydenstricker, 65, of Upper Marlboro

A Pepco employee for 31 years, she lost her battle to cancer on Feb. 24.

According to Lee Funeral Homes in Clinton, Barbara J. Sydenstricker, 65, of Upper Marlboro died on Feb. 24 in Edgewater after a long battle with cancer. She was staying at the Mandrin House at the time of her death. Sydenstricker was born to Garnett and Annabelle (Anderson) Kidwell in Washington DC and was a former Pepco employee, serving the company for 31 years. She is survived by her two daughters—Denise and Dawn— and three grandchildren, one great grandson and three brothers. Donations can be made in Barbara's honor to the Hospice of the Chesapeake at 3675 Solomons Island Rd. Harwood, MD 20776.

Obituary: Long-time Upper Marlboro Resident Mildred Petro

Petro's funeral will be held Tuesday at Lee Funeral Homes in Clinton, MD.

  Mildred E. Petro, 96, of Upper Marlboro died on Thursday, according to Lee Funeral Homes' obituary. Petro was a long time resident of Upper Marlboro and West Lanham Hills and passed away quietly in Clinton, the obituary said. Petro's service is scheduled for Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Lee Funeral Home located at 6633 Old Alexandria Ferry Road in Clinton, MD.
