Police Investigate Possible Sex Crime at Frederick Douglass High

Prince George's high school principal says pictures of incident may be circulating on internet.

County police are investigating a possible crime involving sexual acts and "inappropriate use of technology" at Frederick Douglass High School. According to a letter sent by Frederick Douglass High School Principal Rudolph R. Saunders, photographs of the possible crime may be circulating over the internet. "We are further concerned that the electronic images of the incident are being distributed by students through various avenues," reads the letter. "It is extremely important that students are aware that transmittal of electronic images could lead to criminal charges." Death Notice: Frederick Douglas Graduate David Christopher Wherley

Frederick Douglas graduate David Wherley, 40, who served on the U.S. Army Parachute Team, died on Jan 31.

  David Christopher Wherley, a Frederick Douglas High School graduate and an army veteran who made over 7,500 parachute jumps, died on Jan. 31, according to a recent death notice in Upper Marlboro Patch's announcements. Wherley enlisted in the U.S. Army in July 1996 and served in Vicenza, Italy as an infantry mortar man until 1999. He joined the U.S. Army Parachute team in 1999, where he served more than 12 years, according to the announcement. Staff Sergeant Wherley won a number awards and decorations, including two army commendation medals, three army achievement medals, two army superior unit awards, and a military free fall parachutist badge, according to the announcement.  Wherley's memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Feb. 16…
