Teen Gets 25 Years For Shooting Toddler in Face
The 2-year-old victim, Deondre Johnson, is facing the first of many reconstructive surgeries on Monday.
Deven Angel Matos, 18, of Fort Washington, was sentenced today to 25 years in prison for shooting then 23-month-old Deondre Johnson in the face, according to a press release issued by the state’s attorney. According to the release, Matos was found guilty of first-degree assault and use of a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence against Johnson; second-degree assault and use of a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence against Johnson’s mother, Shaneka Johnson; and of carrying a handgun and reckless endangerment.
