Taxi Hits 14-Year-Old Boy, Drives Away

A taxi cab hit a 14-year-old, from the Temple Hills-area, Thursday night and did not stop, according to Prince George's police. At around 6:30 p.m. police said they responded to the 4700 block of Wheeler Road in Temple Hills and found the boy in the roadway. He was rushed to a local hospital and is in critical condition, police said. Officers found the cab at the Southern Avenue Metro Station with the help of a witness. The driver was placed in custody Thursday night and interviewed, according to Cpl. Larry Johnson, Prince George's police spokesman. Johnson said he did not know where the driver was from.
