Update: Police Identify Suspect in Stardust Lounge Shooting

Shoot causes police to take a closer look at the adult entertainment club.

Update, Feb. 13, 10:45 a.m.: Police on Monday identified a DC man as a suspect in a shooting outside the Stardust Lounge on Feb. 6. Marcus Antonio McCray, of the 200 block of Newcomb Street in Southeast was arrested Feb. 6 and charged with attempted first degree murder, first degree assault and other charges, police said. Original Post, Feb. 11, 12:23 p.m.: Two days after a man was shot at the Stardust Lounge in District Heights, police issued a violation notice Friday that ordered the adult entertainment club to close. It was operating without the required use and occupancy permit, police said in a news release Monday. Police arrested a suspect Wednesday in the shooting, according to PGPD Lt. UMD Closed Monday As Hurricane Sandy Heads Northward

The university plans to provide essential power and services like dining will be available.

In the face of Hurricane Sandy's continued northward trek, the University of Maryland is closing Monday. The university said that it made this decision out of commitment to safety for faculty, staff and students. At this point the university has not announced a Tuesday closure, but said they would announce it no later than 6 p.m. Monday. UMD advises monitoring its homepage and local television and radio broadcasts for additional updates. The university said it provides its own power and has back-up generators to provide essential power. So several university services and centers will be available.
