A suspect wearing a medical mask and plastic gloves robbed the PNC Bank located inside the Crain Highway Giant last week.
A man wearing a white medical mask and plastic gloves robbed the PNC Bank at 3500 Crain Hwy inside of the Giant grocery store on Thursday, according to a police report. At around 7:20 p.m. on Dec. 20, Bowie police responded to a holdup alarm at the PNC Bank on Crain Highway located inside of the Giant grocery store. A bank employee told police that a man entered the bank wearing a medical mask and gloves. The suspect opened his jacket to reveal what the bank employee believed to be a handgun and demanded money. The bank employee handed over the money and the suspect fled on foot. Police locked down the store to search for the suspect, but he was not found in the store, according to the report. Marie Surowicz, 86, suffered fatal injuries after her own vehicle backed over her in the St. Edwards Catholic Church parking lot Sunday.
A Bowie woman was killed when her own car backed over her in the parking lot of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church on Sunday afternoon, according to Bowie police. Marie Surowicz, 86, suffered fatal injuries after attempting to park her car at the church. Witnesses told police that Surowicz exited her car after parking it in the lot, and that the car began rolling backwards. The car’s driver’s side door, which was still open, struck Surowicz causing her to lose her balance. The car then inadvertently struck Surowicz, witnesses told police. Kyra Chimere Smith reportedly tried to jump from a window while holding her child after she allegedly assaulted her parents, according to police.
A Bowie woman was arrested Monday for allegedly assaulting her parents, threatening to kill her father with a knife and jumping from a second-story window while holding her child, according to police. Kyra Chimere Smith, 23, faces charges one charge each of first-degree assault, second-degree child abuse, reckless endangerment and possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure and two counts of second-degree assault, according to online court records. A release from the Prince George's County Office of the Sheriff states that a warrant for Smith's arrest was dated March 10 and filed by the Bowie Police Department (BPD).
