Upper Marlboro Woman Facing Up to 10 Years in Prison

Christy Littleford, 43, was convicted of fleeing the scene of an accident in 2010 after she struck a bicyclist with her SUV.

An Upper Marlboro woman was convicted today for fleeing the scene of an accident after she struck a candiate for U.S. Senate with her car in 2010 and fled the scene, reported the Washington Post. Christy Littleford, 43, is facing up to 10 years in prison for the hit and run that killed 30-year-old Natasha Pettigrew, who was running as the Green Party candidate for senate that year. Pettigrew was riding a bicycle on Route 202 when she was struck by Littleford’s SUV on September 19, 2010, according to prosecutors. During her testimony, Littleford claimed that she knew she struck something, but when she pulled over to look out of her window, she did not see anything, reported the Post. Littleford’s lawyer claims that she thought she struck a …
