"I'm not an app developer," said its creator, but he came up with the free BusTrack DC after the Nextbus app he used everyday stopped working.
DC resident Jason Rosenbaum created his own metro bus tracking app after the Nextbus app stopped working in December. BusTrack DC is now available for free download in the Apple iTunes store. "I was looking for a replacement for the app that stopped working," Rosenbaum told Patch. "I built this because I use this app every day," he added. The new app relies on a public feed of GPS data that WMATA publishes. It acts as an interface to allow your phone to use that data in a meaningful way. Local listservs have been heating up with Prince George's County parents voicing concerns about a school board policy change that would allow the district to own the copyright on student work. The Washington Post recently reported the proposal introduced at a Jan. 24 board meeting as something that could be approved as is, but school board members say that isn't true. Board member Peggy Higgins (Dist. 2) said the board heard parents' concerns and pulled the policy to rework it before the Post published its article.
