Six Local Residents Named to Social Services Board

Upper Marlboro resident Valerie Farrar was named to countywide panel.

Ten residents were added to an important panel this week after the County Council confirmed County Executive Rushern L. Baker III's appointments for the Social Services Board.

The social services board advises the director of the Department of Social Services and the State Board on the local application of state policies and procedures.

“These individuals have professional backgrounds spanning a wide-range of sectors, from entrepreneurship and youth development, to crisis intervention and affordable housing management," P. Michael Errico, Prince George's County's Acting Chief Administrative Officer, said in a statement. "I am confident that regardless of the task at hand ... they are all united behind the common purpose of improving the quality of public services delivered to the most vulnerable members of our society.”
