Community Corner

9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance at PGCC

Prince George's Community College is participating in President Obama’s Interfaith and Community Service Campus Challenge for the 2012-2013 academic year. The institution has developed opportunities for the entire campus community to work together on projects that strengthen communities and unite people of diverse cultural, religious and non-religious backgrounds.  As part of the initiative, Prince George’s Community College will host 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance - A call to Serve at Prince George's Community College on September 11.

The day of service and remembrance will focus on service and compassion and begin with a Fun Run at 8 a.m. at the Largo campus track to benefit homeless veterans in Prince George’s County. Throughout the day, the entire campus community will participate in remembrance tributes, discussions about homelessness and intercultural dialogues about diversity and tolerance.
