Gadget of the Week - Wii U

Nintendo Wii U was unveiled during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3)

The  Nintendo Wii U was unveiled during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles last week. It has a new touchscreen controller allowing users to continue playing their game after the TV is turned off. While Nintendo's Wii U is reported to be 50 percent faster than Xbox 360 and PS3, the Wii U gaming console will not feature a Blu-ray drive. This isn't much of a surprise since Blu-ray hasn't become as widely used as the makers had hoped.

The Wii U will also be equipped with a customized CPU from IBM and a GPU from AMD, making it a real competitor with existing gaming consoles in terms of hardware. Its faster processing speed will add more games to the list you can play on the Wii.

Expect to see them in the stores sometime in 2012, but I wouldn't be surprised if we see it earlier....Stay tuned!
