Speak Out: Was PGCPS CEO Search Transparent?

As County Executive Rushern Baker prepares to announce his selection for the Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) CEO position, some are saying that the selection process has been far from transparent, according to a report in The Gazette.

The lack of disclosure of the three finalists forwarded on to Baker to be selected for the Prince George's schools CEO position has been key sticking point for some county activists.
“I guess there goes having an open and transparent process,” Oxon Hill High School PTSA President Lawson told The Gazette.

Baker is expected to announce the selection of Dr. Kevin Maxwell, current superintendent of the Anne Arundel County public school system, as the PGCPS CEO at a press conference on Friday.
