School Year to be Extended

The county school system used all four of its built-in school days.

Upper Marlboro students will have to attend school until June 17 after the school system used all four of its built-in inclement weather days this academic year. County schools were closed due to inclement weather on Jan. 18, 26, and 27, and on Feb. 22.

The last day for teachers will be June 20. Other employees scheduled to work a ten- or eleven-month schedule should confirm their last day of work with their supervisor.

If schools are closed again due to inclement weather or other emergencies, additional make-up days may be required. For further information, contact the school system's Office of Communications at (301) 952-6001.
