Frederick Douglass Collecting Prom Dresses for Needy Girls

As a part of the Priceless Gown project, Frederick Douglass High School will be collecting gowns so girls with financial needs can still attend prom.

Prom is one of those moments most people remember forever.

But with families still reeling for economic difficulties, prom may not even be an option for some girls in Maryland.

That's where the Priceless Gown Project and Frederick Douglass High School come in to save the day.

The Priceless Gown Project allows for girls to experience shopping for a prom dress in a boutique full of gowns in all sizes and styles. Each student is escorted by a personal shopper and once they find their perfect dress and try it on, they can take the dress with them for absolutely no cost.

The boutique will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, March 16 at the Jericho City of Praise church at 8501 Jericho City Drive in Landover.
