Baker Keeps Boston on as BoE Vice Chair

Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker has decided to keep Carolyn Boston (District 6) as vice chair of the Prince George's County Board of Education.

Per HB-1107, the recently enacted law which gave the county executive greater control over the school board and administration, Baker had the authority to appoint the leadership of the board of education.

“I am pleased that Carolyn Boston will remain as Vice Chair of the Prince George’s County Board of Education. Her experience and history with the Board will serve as a bridge during this transition in school governance,” said Baker in a media release distributed by Prince George's County Public Schools. “Throughout her tenure on the Board of Education, Ms. Boston has earned the respect of her colleagues and has been an advocate for her constituents, students, parents and teachers.”
