WSSC Asks For Patience As Residents Deal with Water Shortage

Officials ask that residents remain calm and conserve water to help during the water shortage.

As thousands of Prince George's County residents are set to endure water shortages over the next three to five days, Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission spokesperson I.J. Hudson asked for patience and stressed the importance of conserving water as crews work to repair the deteriorating water main, which serves portions of southern Prince Georges County.

"We hope that people will be patient, and will help their neighbors, and again, that they will reach out to neighbors beyond the area that is being affected to get water," said Hudson During a press conference at the Prince George's County Emergency Operations Center in Landover Hills on Tuesday afternoon.
