ABC7: Former County Executive Johnson Might Enter Guilty Plea

The Mitchellville resident is scheduled to appear in federal court on Tuesday.

When former county executive Jack B. Johnson enters federal court on Tuesday, he might plead guilty to extortion and bribery charges, unnamed law enforcement sources told ABC7 News in a report published this evening.

Johnson and his wife, Councilwoman Leslie E. Johnson, were arrested by federal agents in November. Jack Johnson could be heard on a wiretap instructing Leslie to flush a $100,000 check down the toilet and stash $79,000 in her bra.

Jack Johnson had previously pled not guilty to the federal charges.
