Upper Marlboro Church Files For Bankruptcy

Ark of Safety Christian Church led by a Maryland senator is dealing with its debt.

The Upper Marlboro church led by State Sen. Anthony Muse (D-Prince George's) filed for bankruptcy protection on June 6, according to The Washington Post

Muse is the bishop at the Ark of Safety Christian Church and told CBS Baltimore that the filing was only to help the group “simply reorganizing and restructuring our debt."

The church has nearly 2,000 members and according to CBS owes $1.8 million.
