Today is Election Day in Upper Marlboro

The three Upper Marlboro town commissioners are running unopposed.

Today is an important day in the town of Upper Marlboro, as the three members of the Board of Town Commissioners are running for re-election. But while Stephen F. Sonnett, Joseph A. Hourcle and James Storey are running unopposed, the commissioners still want voters to show up, according to a report in The Gazette.

If nothing else, a strong voter turnout shows that the town is interested in politics, which is essential if the town government plans to save the  from demolition. Lots of voters represents a strong united front in the town of 631 residents.

The polls are open. Go to 14211 School Lane to vote. Visit http://uppermarlboromd.gov or call 301-627-6905 for more information.
