Duties: Develops, coaches, and supervises staff; evaluates performance and prepares annual performance appraisals. Serves as project facilitator on planning projects to ensure resources are available to meet project objectives; oversees consultant hiring and management; and works with the Planning Board, County Council, and other high level public officials on planning projects and implementation strategies, and more.

Requirements: Master’s degree in planning, architecture, parks, engineering, environmental science, public administration, or related fields and six years of progressively responsible professional level planning experience that included at least three years of supervisory experience or project leadership and coordination experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Park/General Maintenance Worker III

Duties: The selected candidate will perform skilled park/general maintenance work to include general grounds keeping and routine building maintenance work, as well as trades duties not requiring a trades license, and more. This is the expert level in park/general maintenance work which is responsible for directing and training other workers in maintenance procedures and practices.

Automotive Mechanic I

Organization: Central Garage

Duties: Performs the skilled work of the journeyman level in the repair and maintenance of a variety of school vehicles and equipment. The employee in this class works under the supervision of an Automotive Mechanic II and/or Automotive Foreman I/II, using independent judgment as to the method of repair after receiving oral instructions or written work orders as to the nature of the job. Supervision may be exercised over lower grade positions.

Requirements: High School graduate supplemented by completion of a recognized apprenticeship in the trade with experience as a trades helper, or with increasingly responsible work experience as a journeymen mechanic; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Certification requirements: Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification are strongly encouraged and preferred for consideration at this journeyman level; possession of an appropriate and valid Maryland Motor Vehicle Operator's License (Commercial Driver's license with Air Brake & Passenger Endorsement - restricted Class A required) with a driving record indicating five (5) or fewer current points, of which no more than three (3) shall have been accumulated as a result of traffic violations occurring while operating a Board of Education vehicle.
