Glenn Ivey Drops Out of Congressional Race

The former Prince George's County State's Attorney decided not to challenge Donna Edwards for the District 4 Congressional seat.

Apparently, that question was in vain.

With the filing deadline looming Wednesday, Ivey decided not to challenge Edwards for the District 4 Congressional seat, according to a Washington Post report. The showdown was poised to be entertaining, with the popular politicians jockeying for Democratic votes. But according to the Post report, party leaders didn’t like Ivey’s decision to run against a fellow Democrat.

Also in the report, Ivey allegedly had a tough time raising money for his campaign. He announced his intention to run in November. 

Ramon Korionoff, a spokesman for Ivey, told the Post that the prosecutor had raised $160,000 before dropping out of the race.
