Gazette: Upper Marlboro Woman Jailed for Taking Political Donations

Olivia Harris was a treasurer for Sen. Ulysses Currie.

The former treasurer for Sen. Ulysses Currie was sentenced to one year in jail for taking $166,000 in political donations over three years, The Gazette reports.

Olivia Harris, 65, of Upper Marlboro, was Currie's campaign treasurer for 16 years. She will report immediately to an Anne Arundel County jail to begin her sentence, according to The Gazette report.

Currie (D-Dist. 25) of District Heights is facing federal charges for allegedly taking money from Shoppers Food Warehouse. The Gazette has the full story.
