Veterans Stand Down and Homeless Resource Day
Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker III, Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown and the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Veteran Affairs Edward Chow Jr. will co-chair the first joint Veterans Stand Down and Homeless Resource Day.
The Prince George’s County Department of Social Services is partnering with the Maryland Department of Veteran Affairs; Prince George’s County Department of Family Services and John 14:2 Inc, a nonprofit dedicated to helping homeless veterans, to hold a resource day for veterans, homeless residents and those in danger of becoming homeless.
Attendees will be able to meet with different county, state and local service providers to learn information and receive referral services. Services include VA benefits, social security benefits, socials services benefits, employment assistance, mental health services, legal support, obtaining birth certificates and more.
