Inter-County Broadband Network Groundbreaking Ceremony

PG County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III, will preside over a groundbreaking ceremony on August 1 to commemorate the establishment of an Inter-County Broadband Network (ICBN) that will use high-speed fiber optic cable to connect 715 anchor institutions across 10 central Maryland jurisdictions, including Prince George's and Anne Arundel counties. Baker is holding the event at Samuel Massie Elementary School because of the benefits broadband will bring to the students of Maryland. Remarks will also be made by Maryland Senator Barbara Mikulski, Governor Martin O'Malley, Howard County Executive Ken Ulman and PG County Public Schools Superintendent William R. Hite, Jr.
