Upper Marlboro Man Arrested, Charged With Armed Robbery

Curtis Lamar Ford robbed a Popeyes in Mitchellville, according to police.

Curtis Lamar Ford, of Upper Marlboro, was arrested Friday in connection with the robbery of a local Popeyes Restaurant earlier this month.

On Nov. 4, Ford and another suspect allegedly entered the Popeyes along the 12100 block of Central Avenue in Mitchellville. Armed with handguns, they announced the robbery. Then, the suspects ordered two store employees to open a safe and put money into the bag provided by the robbers.

After they took the money, Ford and the other suspect reportedly forced the employees into the walk-in freezer and fled the restaurant.

During the course of their investigation, police identified Ford, 28, of the 300 block of Tamarack Court in Upper Marlboro, as one of the robbery suspects. He’s been charged with armed robbery.
