Ticket Dismissed in Case of Woman Cited for Driving Too Slowly

The motorist was pulled over Friday for failing to move out of the left lane on I-95.

A Maryland woman cited for driving 63 mph in the left lane of a 65 mph zone last week in Laurel has had her ticket dismissed, NBC4 reports.

The citation, which carried a fine of $90, claimed she had failed to move right while driving below the speed limit on I-95 in alleged violation of Maryland Code Section 21-301(b).

But after filing a complaint with Maryland State Police, the driver reportedly received a call from a barracks commander Wednesday telling her that the ticket was being dismissed because it referred to the wrong statute.

"This charge was not totally incorrect, but it may not have been the best charge for the trooper to use," MSP Sgt. Rob Moroney told the news channel.
