Thomas Tyler Found Guilty of Murder

The Temple Hills man faces life in prison for killing Upper Marlboro resident Aaron Leach.

Thomas Tyree Tyler, of Temple Hills, has been found guilty of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in the death last year of Upper Marlboro resident Aaron Leach.

A Prince George’s County jury found Tyler guilty on Friday, according to a press release from the State’s Attorney’s office. Tyler faces life in prison and is due to be sentenced on March 7.

Leach was shot at a barbeque in Bowie. According to a press release, Tyler showed up uninvited to the barbeque and was asked to leave. A short time later, he returned with a handgun. That’s when a verbal argument ensued and Leach tried to step in to prevent a physical altercation.

Leach was shot dead and two others were shot and seriously wounded. After the shooting, Tyler fled the scene and bragged about the shooting, according to the State’s Attorney’s office.

“I stress again the importance of conflict resolution,” State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks said in a statement. “Countless lives are forever changed because a conflict arose and it was dealt with improperly.  We need to help our young people understand the serious consequences of their actions.”
