Teen Steals Cop's Car, 9-year-old Daughter was Inside

The 19-year-old will spend two years in jail, plus supervised probation.

A teen has pleaded guilty to theft and assault after trying to steal a police officer’s car while the officer’s 9-year-old daughter was in the back seat, according to the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Demetrice Littles, 19, was sentenced to 10 years, with all but one year suspended for each count. He’ll spend two years in jail. Littles will also serve five years on supervised probation after his release.

According to State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks, a Metropolitan Police Department police officer and his wife were getting ready to take their 9-year-old daughter to school in Fort Washington on March 15. The girl was in the car alone when Littles got in and backed out of the driveway.

According to Alsobrooks, the officer drew his gun and ordered Littles to stop. At that point, Littles drove toward the officer, who then fired his gun. Littles drove into a parked car, then got out and fled the scene.

According to State’s Attorney spokesman John Erzen, the officer then shot Littles, who was later arrested at Prince George’s Hospital Center, where he was getting his gunshot wound treated.
