I don't support guns. Accidents happen. Quit being asshole. The baby will probably be fine. Can any of u honestly say u have never fucked up so badly someone else got hurt? Really. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone or shut the fuck up.

I like the fork comment cool. Back to the seriousness he's 17 yrs. old and i know he know right from wrong. He proberly always thought he was a bad ass with a gun. Most of the young men 25 and under always feeling untouchable as long they can get hold of a gun. Hell fry his so call bad ass. My prayers out to the toddler and family peace.....

There is no justification for harming a child with a gun. All parents should know that their kids have two sides, one they present to family and one they present to their friends. He may have been showing off and fired the gun not knowing the child was near. But just like it hit the child someone else could have been hurt. This kid needs time out to think about what he did to this child and what showing off in front of friends will get you. if he was with friends they should be kicked in the ass for going along with this kids stupid behavior. These kids do not know what it means to really be a friend to someone. If you are someones friend you need to tell them No when that person starts to act stupid and reckless. Maybe I am old fashion but the parents need to be parents and stop trying to be their child's friend and thinking it is ok to have a gun or touch a gun.

Read the story before commenting...the mom of the baby was sitting out in front of her house..she heard shots being fired and ran inside, only to realize the baby was shot..so she didnt know the boys shooting and she is not at fault for sitting outside her home...

Number one, learn to spell people. I have a head ache from trying to read ebonics. Number two, if he was taught proper gun safety, I'll almost guarantee this wouldn't have happened. I've had proper gun safety drilled into me since I could walk almost, the ones who have never been around or been taught guns-those are the ones who scare me. You're not going to get rid of firearms. Get used to it, and adapt-not bitch. Number three, kid's 17, messed up-albeit in a really bad way, and should learn from his mistake, not be punished-making him bitter and turning him into more of a problem during the rest of his life. It's real easy for you to sit at your computer and talk about the death penalty, or all this prison time, but perhaps we should execute you for giving your child diabetes? That can be deadly, or depending on the severity of the child's injuries, worse than getting shot in the face. Cosmetic surgery these days is very effective, no cure for diabetes. They're both kids, and this inflammatory rhetoric only causes problems. I'm sure the majority of you call yourselves Christians. How about we be a little more Christ like?

The kid deserves some jail time, to fully comprehend the seriousness of the situation. Accident or not, stray bullet or not, the gun was not a toy. And the poor baby, he will forever be damaged, broken, have to live with the hard fact his own brother tried to kill him while mom and dad sipped their cocktails and watched what happened. Mom and dad deserve the same sentence as their irresponsible son.

@ brandon you are ignorant. Gun safety yes should have been taught but it wasn't. The parents should have known the rules and locked up their gun so the 17 or 2 year old couldn't get it and let this "accident" happen. I just believe the parents and child deserve some time in jail. If they get angry or bitter, they are mentally unstable and should than forever be locked up.
Now, a gun and a natural disease are two COMPLETELY different things. Natural diseases are normal, a 17 year old shooting his 2 year old sibling while your parents watch is NOT NATURAL.

I think tht there is alot of haste n fast judgement. The mother was sitting on her porch with her baby when shots were fired n if that is a reason to go to jail alot of us moms are in trouble. The teen invovled should recieve some time due to his actions but death row is not it. There are other options. Our children (and us) do stupid things. Maybe if there were more constructive things for the teens do we would not see so much travesty in the news. Or maybe if his mom wasnt probably somewhere bustin here ass tryna make ends meet she could hve been able to intervene. But oh yea being a workng mom is so irresponsable. But so is staying at home to take care of your child (possibly preventing such a thing) if u need government assistance to keep a roof over your childs head food on the table and cothes on their back. Damned if you do damned if u dont. I wonder if u would feel the same if your suburban soccer mom kid did the same thing. How fast would the death penalty be an option then?

I feel for both parents. Regardless if he had access to a gun or not he didnt aim at the child and shoot. I dont by any means agree that he had access but what if it had been an adult and the gun had an accidental discharge. I dont think we should be so quick to judge

in Maryland you are required to leave a gun in the home unloaded and the bullets separate from the gun. this is because children can find guns and stuff like this may happen. also in anger a loaded weapon may be used against another adult in the home. respect the weapon..... or don't keep it around. this boy may be silly, immature and more... but he may not be a criminal. there are a lot of judgemental comments from folks fed up with children behaving badly. this scenario is different. agape.

Funny how we judge......it's crazy how we have so much to say....I agree it was a stupid act and I feel for the little baby and the parents...but what have anyone done to prevent these type of things.....why don't people just let GOD be the judge because I am pretty sure we all did things we are not fond of.....so I send my prayers to the family and hope that GOD see what is fit and not the people<trust GOD>

First off I'm praying for the healing n recovery of the with no rememberance or idiots reminding (him/her) as they age over the years... I also pray for the parents... But most of all I pray for this young man, he wil have to be judge in court n heaven for his actions... He will be prosecuted in court n prison / jail by other inmates... Sadly, shootings occur daily, hourly m by the minute or even second, yet it's not until someone of innocence sparks emotions n feelings that more ppl comment, yet not get involved... I'm not minimizing the situation, but parents are responsible for their children sometimes it gets so difficult when one wants to tear his/her ass up then the school system, child protection services, or the state gets involved a question of where the parents are (were) becomes an issue... Children need discipline, educating, knowledge of real punishment n consequences in order to fully understand the repercussions of their actions!!!

Has anyone that any of you know ever been to jail for an extended period of time? Have they ever told you that the majority of them are a joke and it simply teaches you to be a better criminal? Get real people. You can be outraged all you want but it is still the parents fault for leaving a loaded weapon accessible to a teenager that apparently was not educated on gun safety at all. If you are going to have guns in your home then you better make damn sure you teach your children right from wrong and keep them locked up and inaccessible or like it or not this could be you. There is no excuse for ignorance.

For everybody on here making comments about Deven and do not know the full story FIRST go read the full article because this is not it SECOND A lot of ya'll are saying he should not be running the streets...this happened during the day he is allowed at 17 to be out during the day unsupervised! Ok yes it was wrong for him to have a gun and to just shot it but he DID NOT shot that baby on purpose! It was a stray bullet and it could have hit anyone. I’m not saying he is right for what he did but ya’ll need to know all the details before you decide to comment. Yes I do know him and no he is not a bad kid just got caught up in a situation where he made the wrong decision and now he will pay for it end of story....his parents should not get locked up because they really did not have anything to do with it! So I think everyone should take this advice and think before you speak because imagine someone stating untrue facts or bias opinions about you, your son, nephew, brother, cousin, father, or friend...how would you feel?....NO NEED TO COMMENT BACK BECAUSE IDGAF AND IM NOT GOING TO ENTERTAIN YOUR FOOLERY IM JUST LETTING ALL YA'LL KNOW WHAT IT IS!
