Prostitution Ringleader Gets 3 Years in Jail for Human Trafficking

A Takoma Park man was sentenced to three years in jail after he pleaded guilty to human trafficking in an Annapolis prostitution ring.

Freddy Soriano Leguisamon, 27, of Takoma Park, was charged in July with 54 counts of general prostitution, eight counts of receiving compensation from human trafficking, five counts of taking another to a place for the purpose of human trafficking, and four counts of operating a prostitution business.  

He pleaded guilty to the human trafficking charges on Thursday in Anne Arundel Circuit Court, according to online court records.

Judge Paul A. Hackner sentenced Leguisamon to three years in jail, with three years on supervised probation after he is released. The 253 days that Leguisamon had already served in jail will be subtracted from his stay.

Hackner also banned Leguisamon from the city of Annapolis, according to The Capital.

According to police, Leguisamon would pick up Hispanic women in Prince Georges’ County and deliver them to Annapolis addresses. Police said he would make as many as 20 "deliveries" a day, five days a week.

He advertised his operation by passing out business cards to prospective clients, police said.

Leguisamon’s clients were predominantly Hispanic men, and police said some of the women are in the country illegally and worked as prostitutes to pay off debts owed by themselves or their families.
