Police Officer Shot in Capitol Heights

He was taken to the hospital after being shot in the arm.

A police officer and an unidentified man were transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries after an altercation in Capitol Heights led to a shooting, according to police information.

Details are still hazy. Shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday, police officers saw a group of men acting suspiciously along Marblewood Avenue, near Reed Street, in Chapel Oaks. During their interaction, one of the men shot a gun at one of the police officers, striking him in the arm.

Another police officer fired his service weapon at the man. The injured officer was taken to a local hospital with a non-life threatening injuries. Four men were arrested, and one of them was taken to a local hospital for an unknown injury. More details will be provided as they become available.
