Police Investigating Departmental Shooting in Temple Hills

Prince George's County police officers are investigating a police involved shooting that occurred this week in Temple Hills.

On May 23 at about 10:48 a.m., patrol officers drove to the 6400 block of Auth Road to approach a drug dealer driving a gray Nissan Maxima. The officers found the car, stopped it and began to investigate. According to a press release, the suspect was uncooperative. As one officer reached into the car to turn it off, the suspect sped away. Patrol Officer Carlos Horne, a county police officer for one year, shot his gun at the car.

The suspect was not struck or injured during this incident. Drug charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing.

The second officer in the incident is three-year police officer Paul Schweinsburg. Both officers are assigned to the Bureau of Patrol and have been placed on administrative leave in accordance with departmental policy.
