Update: Police Identify Man Found Shot at Capitol Heights Firehouse
Authorities believe the shooting occurred elsewhere.
Update, Feb. 11: Police have released the identity of a man who died last week after he was found suffering from a gunshot wound outside a Capitol Heights firehouse.
Charles Robert Thompson, 27, of the 200 block of Whitehaven Circle in Fort Washington was pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital, according to police.

According to Corp. Clinton Copeland, a spokesman for the Prince George's County Police Department, officer discovered the victim around 12:20 a.m. in the parking lot of a firehouse in the 1400 block of Ritchie Marlboro Rd.
The Ritchie Volunteer Fire Department is located in that block.

Authorities said they do not believe the victim was shot at the firehouse, based on a preliminary investigation.
"As of right now it's still a wide open case," Clinton said, adding that police have not identified a motive or a suspect in the case.
