NBC: Upper Marlboro Man Arrested for Arson

Maurice D. McPherson allegedly set fire to two homes in Capitol Heights.

Maurice D. McPherson, of Upper Marlboro, has been arrested for allegedly setting fire to two occupied homes in Capitol Heights this week, according to NBC Washington.

McPherson, 28, has been charged with two counts of arson, as well as assault and reckless endangerment, according to the NBC report.

The fire along the 1400 block of Early Oaks Lane resulted in five injuries, including two to firefighters. According to NBC, the other fire took place on the porch of a nearby Farmingdale Avenue residence.
