Man Sentenced After Shooting Incident in Forestville

Christopher Flowers shot at officers last year.

A Montgomery County man was sentenced today to serve 20 years in prison for firing shots last year at three Prince George's County officers in Forestville.

A county Circuit Court judge sentenced 21-year-old Christopher Felix Flowers of Burtonsville to serve the time. In January 2010, Flowers evaded a traffic stop and sped down Pennsylvania Avenue in Forestville. After his car lost control, he and another person left the car and fled on foot.

While running, Flowers shot at the police officers who chased him. The officers shot back, but no one was injured. Flowers pled guilty to three counts of first-degree assault and one count of using a handgun for a violent crime.
