A man staggering across a parking lot in Glenarden -- possibly as a result of taking PCP -- died before paramedics could take him to an area hospital, according to a release from the Glenarden Police Department.

Officers responded to the 2800 block of Red Oak Lane to check on the man’s welfare. They attempted to speak to this man and discovered that he appeared to be under the influence of phencyclidine or PCP.

While police were attempting to identify the man and coordinate with paramedics to take him to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation, he became unresponsive, authorities said. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim was then taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore for an autopsy. He has been identified as Calvin Kelly Lee, 32, of Glenarden.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Chief Philip O’Donnell of the Glenarden Police Department at podonnell@cityofglenarden.org or Prince George’s County Police Department Homicide Unit at (301) 772-4925.

I know, I know, ooh pick me, lets just decriminalize small amounts of PCP.
