Man Charged In Connection with Seat Pleasant Murder

Police are still seeking a second suspect in the case.

Mahdi Lawson, of Upper Marlboro, is facing charges related to the Nov. 16 murder of 31-year-old Sharod Darnell James, WUSA9 reported.

Prince George’s County police responded to a call reporting a shooting in the 5600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Highway where they found James suffering from gunshot wounds, according WUSA9. James was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Police said they arrested Lawson in connection to the murder on Nov. 21 and are now seeking a second suspect in the case, 23-year-old Joshua Jermaine Benton, of Washington, DC. Benton has a twin brother that is not involved in this case, said police. The suspect can be identified by a prominent tattoo on his right forearm, shown in the photograph attached to this article.
