Man Arrested, Charged with Assaulting Woman in Upper Marlboro

Emmanuel Adegoke allegedly assaulted a female, choking and punching her, according to the Prince George's Sheriff's Office.

Prince George's County sheriff's deputies arrested a man who allegedly assaulted a female in Upper Marlboro more than a week ago, choking and punching her, then chasing her with a knife, according to the sheriff's office.

Thirty-one-year-old Emmanuel Adegoke of Upper Marlboro was arrested Tuesday on a warrant for first-degree assault, according to the sheriff's office. Deputies found Adegoke in the 100 block of Independence Avenue in Washington DC. He was apprehended without incident, the sheriff's office reported.

Adegoke allegedly assaulted the victim on Jan 20 at a residence in the 9600 block of Marilyn Ivy Court. The victim escaped the residence and contacted police. Adegoke fled the scene, according to the sheriff's office.

Adegoke was transported to the District of Columbia Department of Corrections and charged as a fugitive for Prince George's County, the sheriff's office stated.
